I am always asked where can I Get decent Kits for kids to learn the fundamentals of electronic circuits. these can still be bought from many electronic outlets like Maplin electronics. also Rapid online has a few kits but these are for the more advanced users and will need tools and the use of a soldering iron to construct. One of the first kits I got from my parents when I was little was a 120 in 1 electronic construction kit and I must have spent hours trying to get the radio circuits working those always seemed so magical to me even today the thought of transmitting a signal with out wires has to be admired credit to Guglielmo Marconi who sent his first radio transmission in Italy, 1895 and his contribution to modern society. These are excellent kits to introduce kids to electronics as there is no need for special tools or hot soldering irons and are suitable for kids 10+ with adult supervision. They can be build and reused over and over again and come with excellent manuals to explain how to put the circuits together and how they work and after awhile they can experiment to make there own ideas and create even more ingenious designs that not even the creators could have imagined.
